Mug Shot Mania News23-Year-Old Elgin Man Charged with Burglary From Motor Vehicle
On Monday, November 23 2015, the Bartlett Police Department arrested Samuel A. Jones, 23, of 678 Packard Drive in Elgin. The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office and the Bartlett Police Department charged him with four Class 2 Felony counts of Burglary From Motor Vehicle, a Class A Misdemeanor for Obstructing/Resisting a Peace Officer, and a Class A Misdemeanor for No Valid Driver’s License.
At approximately 4:20 am, the Bartlett Police Department investigated a report of two male individuals wearing dark clothing who were pulling on the door handle of a vehicle parked on Knoll Crest Drive. They were last seen leaving in a white colored vehicle towards Spaulding Road. The Bartlett Police Department located a white colored 2006 Ford Fusion vehicle northbound on Lambert Lane from Spaulding Road.
Bartlett Police alleged Samuel A. Jones and his passenger exited the vehicle and fled on foot after parking the vehicle at a residence on Thornbury Road. Jones was apprehended a short time later at a business parking lot in Elgin, Illinois.
During the investigation, Bartlett Police alleged Jones burglarized several unlocked vehicles on Snow Drift Circle, Knoll Crest Drive, and Biltmore Drive. Several stolen laptop computers, an iPad, cigarette cartons, wallets, and other personal items were recovered from the Ford Fusion vehicle.
On Tuesday, November 24, 2015, Jones was transported to the Cook County court facility located in Rolling Meadows to await his bail bond hearing.
Bartlett Police continue to investigate the incident.
