U-46 releases names of Illinois State Scholars

By Seth Hancock
A record number of students were named as Illinois State Scholars in School District U-46 according to a recent press release.
From the district’s five high schools, 266 seniors were named to the list which is selected by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission which uses a student’s class rank along with ACT/SAT scores to determine the list. According to the U-46 release, these students are in the top 10 percent of graduates.
“Congratulations to the hard working U-46 members of this elite group,” U-46 CEO Tony Sanders said via the release. “We especially want to recognize their families and teachers for supporting and guiding these students toward success.
