As President Dementia’s poll numbers continue to redefine what “disapproval” means, let us stop and consider the purported life-saver to which Democrats, Socialists and their MSM allies so desperately cling: the January 6 “insurrection.”
No one, with even a passing knowledge of our history, would compare the peaceful (only person killed was shot by Capital police) civil disobedience of Jan. 6, 2020 to those singularly defining, violent moments that occurred on Dec. 7, 1941 and Sept. 11, 2001.
At their core, the events that occurred on Dec. 7, 1941 and Sept. 11, 2001 were focused on challenging Western Judeo-Christian values that focused on the principles of representative government and self-determination.
Imperial Japan, in 1941, was not all that interested in granting additional power to Asians they determined to be within the Empire’s sphere of influence. Imperial Japan annexed swaths of China and modern day Indonesia and Malaysia. They did not do so in hopes of supporting democratic institutions in those parts of Asia. They were imposing order, not introducing ideals.
Al Qaeda, like all Jihadist organizations, is dedicated to the idea that the world ought to be ruled by a theocracy based on Sharia law. The attacks on Sept. 11, 2001 were intended to be the opening shots in a new era of Islamic expansion. Their purpose was to tear down the west and western institutions so that militant Islam could fill the gap.
Pearl Harbor and September 11 were attacks on America that took thousands of innocent lives. January 6 took exactly one life, that of an unarmed protestor.
In the weeks leading up to January 6 those of us on the right were continually talking about an election that smelled to high heaven. Understanding that the vice president was due to certify the results on January 6 thousands on the right spontaneously decided to converge on Washington. The purpose was not to overturn the Constitution, but to plead for it. The purpose was not to change the results of an election, but to ensure those results had been honestly tabulated.
Call January 6 an “insurrection’ is about as ridiculous as President Dementia asserting that he has cancer and that it was the result of exposure to oil on the windshield of his mother’s car. (Not making that up).
January 6 was a protest. And, as protests went, it was a hell of a lot more peaceful and a hell of lot less destructive than the Black Lives Matter riots during the summer of 2020.
So why this insane obsession with January 6 on the left? It’s all they got. When filling up your vehicle requires you to take out a second mortgage, a little misdirection is called for. When you’ve printed up a crap-ton of worthless money that has inflation sky-rocketing, you need a “crisis” to address. When the likelihood of either the president or the vice president putting together a coherent sentence on any given day is pretty much fifty-fifty, you need to divert attention elsewhere.
And so the Dems and RINO Liz continue to pontificate and whine in hopes that we the people are stupid enough to believe the party not in power at the moment is a grave danger to our nation, while the party in power at the moment continues to do its best to ruin it.
