The Examiner covers eight separate communities, Bartlett, which began hitting the presses in 1991; Carol Stream, the major news source since 1978; Hanover Park, in 1992; Wayne which began in 1993; Streamwood, in 1997; St. Charles in 2003; South Elgin in 2005 and Campton Hills started in 2007.
The Examiner is strictly a local, community newspaper. It tells the stories of the unsung heroes, often on page one. Municipal, Park District and School Board meetings are covered extensively. It also provides a valuable news platform for neighborhoods, churches, and civic and social groups.
